About us
Radio Retrofuture began as a YouTube channel of the same name created by Bonsart Bokel. Now he's creating one of the biggest steampunk settings currently in existence.
The Association of Ishtar is a community-driven transmedia world-building project set in an alternate 19th century where industrial progress intersects with other worlds. Rifts—anomalies linking Earth to parallel planes—introduce advanced technology, alien life, and existential threats into an already volatile age.
Through novels, tabletop role-playing games, and deep setting lore, we explore a world of steampunk, cosmic horror, pulp adventure, and speculative history. Our stories focus on investigators, engineers, explorers, and institutions forced to navigate moral ambiguity in a rapidly changing world.
If you enjoy rich lore, unconventional steampunk, and immersive settings, the Association of Ishtar invites you to step through the rift.

Nightwatch: The Steampunk Tabletop Role Playing Game
Nightwatch is a tabletop role-playing game set in the universe of The Association of Ishtar. Players take on the roles of Associates—investigators, engineers, soldiers, and specialists operating in an alternate 19th century fractured by rifts to other worlds. The game emphasizes investigation, moral ambiguity, and improvisation over rigid classes or traditional heroics. Designed as a flexible system, Nightwatch can be played alongside other RPGs, with a strong focus on setting, consequences, and story-driven play.

Novel: The Wrench in the Machine
A grounded entry point into the Nightwatch universe. The Wrench in the Machine follows an Association operative caught between collapsing institutions, emerging Wyrd technology, and threats that cannot be handled by law or ideology. It blends investigative noir, steampunk engineering, and cosmic unease, focusing less on heroics and more on consequences—what it costs to intervene when the system itself is failing. If you had something specific in mind—logline, back-cover blurb, fair description, or a one-sentence hook for a video—this is a solid foundation to tune it precisely.
