In Nocturnia dragen niet alle bomen vruchten. Sommige dragen hele mini-werelden met zich mee: de Mirewood. Ze groeien stil, traag en vaak zonder dat je het merkt… tot het te laat is. Jouw dobbelstenen. Deze dobbelsteenhouder met dicetower is een eerbetoon aan die merkwaardige bomen van Nocturnia. Met zijn gesloten ogen en verweerde bast lijkt hij niets te zeggen… maar hij onthoudt alles. Zijn takken bieden rust aan dobbelstenen zoals de echte Mirewoodn rust bieden aan reizigers, verdwaalden, twijfelaars en zij die liever niet gevonden worden. Een perfecte metgezel voor spelers die houden van diepgang, verhalen die onder het oppervlak borrelen, en een beetje mysterie op tafel. These 200 women and girls, flying outdated biplanes from open fields near the front lines, attacked the invading German forces every night for 1,100 consecutive nights. When they ran out of bombs, they dropped railroad ties. To each other they were sisters, with bonds forged in blood and terror. For the Red Army Air Force, they were an angry feminist afterthought. To the Germans they were simply Nachthexen: Night Witches. The game. Night Witches is a tabletop role-playing game about women at war. As a member of the 588th Night Bomber Regiment, you answer the call of your motherland in its darkest hour. Can you do your duty and strike one blow after another against the fascists? Can you overcome discrimination and outright sabotage and rise above your sexist comrades? Are there limits to patriotism – or endurance? Play Night Witches and find out! It can be played over a single two-hour session or expanded into a literal campaign following the regiment throughout World War II. Either way, you're telling an epic story of heroism and sacrifice in honor of the women who really did it. During the game you alternate between day and night, with unique moves for each. Days are about innovation and interpersonal conflict, and nights are about hair-raising bombings of historically accurate targets in the Soviet Union, Poland, and ultimately Germany. Missions are insanely dangerous and you constantly have to make difficult choices. And when they're over, a whole new kind of danger awaits at the airbase: the paranoid secret police, sexist Red Army officials who want you to fail, and chronic supply shortages are just the beginning of your problems.
